16 Year Old Greene County Boy To Be Tried As Adult
The 16 year old Greene County boy accused of killing his grandmother and his little brother will be tried as an adult. That is according to an order issued by a Greene County Juvenile Court last week. The suspects name has been kept hidden while the case was in juvenile court. With the release to adult court, the 16 year old has been identified as Jordan Allen. Prosecutors say that on April 24th of this year, just before midnight, Greene County deputies found the bodies of 7-year-old Jessie Allen and 59 year -old Sherry Cole behind a home in the 7100 block of Old Snapps Ferry Road in Chuckey. The bodies were found next to bloody tools. The juvenile court in their ruling stated “the actions of the juvenile defendant are especially shocking and especially heinous given the fact that the juvenile defendant committed these acts with a hammer”
Among the testimony and evidence revealed during a two day hearing, Jordan Allen was dropped off by his parent’s to spend a few days with his grandparents, but was never picked up…and that was three or four years ago. Allen also had reportedly left his grandparents’ home unsupervised on four different accasions. DCS has opened a case regarding Jordan Allen, but the case has been closed on March 31…just 3 1/2 weeks before the murders.
Allen’s bond of $800,000 will be transferred to criminal court. There is also a possibility that Allen will be transferred to an adult detention facility “separate and removed from adult detainees.” That decision could be made by October 24th. Jordan Allen will be arraigned in Greene County Criminal Court on November 30th at 8:30 am.
