2 People Charged In Hamblen County Shooting
The two people charged in the shooting that claimed two lives in Hamblen county early Sunday morning were arraigned in Hamblen County court Tuesday.
18 year old Adam Perez, Jr. of White Pine and 19 year-old Talan Trevathan of Sevierville were both in court. More details were released about the shooting during the arraignment. According to authorities, 25-30 people from surrounding counties were at a party at an Airbnb in Talbott. Shortly after midnight Sunday morning, shots were fired. Authorities say that Perez, Jr. was the one who fired the shots. Trevathan showed a weapon but did not fire. Both fled from the scene together.
Perez, Jr. is charged with two counts of second degree murder while Trevathan is charged with tow counts of second degree murder, party to the offense. Both have been ordered held without bond. Their next court appearance has not been set.
Sheriff Chad Mullins says that with the assistance of the TBI and the Pigeon Forge Police Department, Perez and Trevathan were taken into custody without incident by Hamblen County Detectives at a motel in Pigeon Forge on Monday night. Mullins says that while those two arrests have been made, this is still an active investigation. He says that detectives are continuing to interview those who were at the party. Once those interviews are finished, more charges could be filed.
