2024 Community Treasure Hunt For Books
Adventure Awaits: Join an Exciting Community Treasure Hunt for Books!
NEWPORT, TN – APRIL 18 – Calling all businesses and organizations! Cocke County Cradle to Career Coalition (C5) and our local libraries are thrilled to announce an extraordinary opportunity to engage with our community: the 2024 Community Treasure Hunt.
Scheduled to kick off this summer, the Community Treasure Hunt for Books promises to be an exhilarating event that celebrates literacy, community spirit, and the joy of reading. As we gear up for another season of enriching summer programming, we invite you to join us in this adventure-filled initiative.
What is the Community Treasure Hunt for Books, you ask? This engaging activity is designed to promote literacy and foster a love for reading among families throughout Cocke County. Businesses and organizations like yours will have the unique opportunity to become part of this exciting journey by serving as hiding spots for hidden literary treasures—books! Imagine the delight on the faces of families as they receive a stamp in their passport booklet and a book hand-selected by you and your business.
Participation is simple and rewarding:
- Sign up to be a treasure spot: Register your business or organization with your local library or C5 to serve as a treasure spot.
- Participating businesses will choose a book for median reading ages – ages 5 through 12- and purchase a set of that book. C5 Director Jennifer Ellison can help by providing a set of 25 books for $75 or a set of 50 for $150, both tax-deductible donations!
- Engage with the community: Welcome families as they embark on their quest to find hidden treasures. Share the excitement of literacy and inspire a love for reading among participants.
By participating in the Community Treasure Hunt for Books, you’ll not only contribute to the enrichment of our community but also enjoy the following benefits:
- Increased foot traffic and visibility for your business or organization
- Enhanced community engagement and goodwill
- Opportunities for positive media coverage
- Demonstrated commitment to literacy and education in Cocke County
To sign up for this exciting opportunity or to learn more about how you can get involved, please contact Jennifer Ellison at jellison@cockecountypartnership.com or 423-608-2845. You can also contact your local library director.
