GCSO Investigating Discovery Of Dead Body

The Greene County Sheriff’s office and the TBI are investigating the discovery of a dead body found in a garage Wednesday. According to Greene County Sheriff Wesley Holt, around 7:30pm Wednesday night, his department responded to a report of a deceased male discovered in a detached garage on Hartman Lane. Detectives from the Greene County Sheriff’s office along with investigators from the TBI arrived on the scene. They have identified the deceased as the property owner, 80-yr old James W. Woods. The body has been sent to the William L. Jenkins Forensics Center in Johnson City for an autopsy to be performed. No further information is being released at this time.
