Funeral Services Announced For Judge Slone

Funeral services have been announced for Judge Duane Slone. Visitation is set for this Friday from 2p.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Pathways Church in Sevierville with the funeral services to follow at 7pm. Burial will be at 11 am Saturday at Hillcrest Cemetery in Dandridge.

Judge Slone was killed early Sunday morning. He had a flat tire and walking along HWY 25/70 in Jefferson County when he was struck by a car driven by 36 year old Kiera Stubblefield around 1:24 am. Judge Sloan died from his injuries. No charges were filed against Stubblefield.

Judge Slone was on the bench in the fourth judicial district since his election back in 1998. He co-founded the district’s Drug Recovery Court in 2009
