Newport Man Charged In Fatal Road Rage Incident

A Newport man is being charged with homicide after an apparent road rage incident on Monday in Jefferson County. According to the White Pine Police Department, the incident happened on Roy Messer Hwy near exit 4 of I-81 around 5:20am Monday morning. Police say a road rage incident led to the shooting of 20 year old Jordan Price of White Pine. He was later pronounced dead at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville.

59 year old Derwin Wilds of Newport is being charged with Voluntary Manslaughter regarding the incident. The White Pine Police Department and the TBI are investigating.
