Arrest Made In Seven Springs Market Robbery
The Cocke County Sheriff’s office has made an arrest regarding the armed robbery that took place at Seven Springs Market Tuesday evening.
The clerk told investigators he was putting cash into the cash register when a male subject entered the store, got a drink out of the cooler, and brought it up to the cash register. The male subject then ran around the counter with a knife in his hand, plus also brandished a black handgun in the right side of his waistband. The man ordered the clerk to go into the bathroom and not come out. The clerk says when he came back about five minutes later, the subject had fled on foot and had taken approximately $700 in cash from the register.
JY Sepulveda of Newport is now in custody and charged with that robbery. Detectives conducted a search warrant at Sepulveda’s residence on Friendship Road in Newport. He was detained during a traffic stop on Heritage Blvd and then transported to the Cocke County jail. Sepulveda is charged with Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Assault and Theft of Property.
