Over 3,500 Have Voted Early So Far
One half week is done regarding early voting and they have been very busy during these opening days at the early voting site in the Western Plaza Shopping Center. After 382 voters came through and cast their ballot on Saturday, over 3,500 voters have taken advantage of early voting. Josh Blanchard, the Administer of Elections for Cocke County, says turnout continues to be heavy as a total of 3,564 have voted early so far. Adding in the absentee ballots received, nearly 3,800 registered voters have now cast their ballot for the upcoming election. Hours for early voting this week are Monday through Friday 9am-5pm, Saturday 9am-noon.
If you do not vote early, you will have to go to your regular polling location on election day, November 5. Given the heavy turnout for early voting, polling sites will be busy on election day. Hours to vote on election day are 9am-8pm. If you are in line at 8pm on November 5, you will be allowed to vote. This is the Presidential election along with US Senate, US House and State House election.
