Counterfeit $100 Bill Passed

A counterfeit $100 bill was passed at a Newport business on Saturday. Employees at Weigel’s on Cosby Hwy stated that a black male entered the store Saturday evening and purchased a pepsi, slice of pizza, and $15.00 of gas. He then paid with a $100 bill getting just over $79 back in change. The bill turned out to be counterfeit. The same individual then went down Cosby Hwy to Wal-Mart and attempted to pass another fake bill, but staff there refused the bill. that suspect has not been identified.
