Man Charged With Domestic Assault

A man is in jail after sending another man to the emergency room due to an assault. Deputies went to an address on Caney Creek Road and observed the victim, 67 year old Randle Benson with a bloody nose, blood on his clothes and clumps of his hair on his own shirt. Benson stated that he had propped open his front door to smoke a cigarette, when his son, 46 year old Mark Benson kicked the door open and started punching, kicking and ripping his hair out. Another person inside the house heard the commotion and saw what was going on. The individual then grabbed a gun and pointed it at Mark Benson ordering him to get off of his father. The younger Benson then fled into the woods where he has a tent. EMS advised the elder Benson to go to the emergency room to be treated for a broken nose. Deputies located Mark Benson in the woods near the home and took him into custody. He is charged with Domestic Assault.
