Regenx Relocating To Newport
The cocke county Partnership hosted an event on Friday afternoon to make an announcement of some good news to Newport & Cocke County. Regenx Tech corporation will be relocating their facility to Newport. The company has been operating in Greeneville, but were forced to shut down due damage from Hurricane Helene. Then their lease at that facility was not renewed and they began looking for another location, and Newport was chosen. Several dignitaries were on hand at the event including Cocke County Mayor Rob Mathis , Newport Mayor Trey Dykes and State Senator Steve Southerland.
According to their website, Regenx uses their innovative and environmentally friendly technologies to recover precious metals, such as platinum and palladium, from end of life diesel catalytic converters. They call their operation a sustainable solution that minimizes waste, conserves resources, and reduce environmental impact.
Regenx will be locating their operation in a portion of the Con Agra building, They are bringing seven employees from Greeneville with them. Their goal is to add 10 more employees in the next three years.
