Take Precautions Against Freezing Pipes
With the artic air on the way next week, plumbers say it’s a good time to take precautions against freezing pipes. If you have a crawlspace, make sure your vents are closed and insulate any pipes that are not insulated already. If your home is on a slab, it’s a good idea during freezing conditions to let your faucet drip. Another way to keep from having an issue is to allow warm air to get into areas that normally do not have access to that, by opening up the doors underneath your sink. That will let some of the warm air from inside your home get to those pipes in your cabinet. Plumbing experts also remind you to make sure that hoses are detached from outdoor spigots. Failure to do that could cause the pipe feeding your outdoor spigot to burst, causing major headaches inside your home.
