Car Show In Memory Of Cocke County Educator Returns October 4
A popular car show is coming back to the area next weekend. The annual Wilbur West Memorial “Wheels for Kids” Car Show will be held on Saturday, October 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m in downtown Greeneville in the parking lot of the City Garage Car Museum at 210 South Main Street. The event is on rain or shine.
The car show is open for all years, makes, and models of vehicles. Advance registration to exhibit a vehicle is $15. On-site registration, which is $20, begins at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 4. A best of show will be awarded, and the top ten entries will each receive trophies. In addition, dash plaques will be given to the first 75 entrants.
There will be drawings for door prizes, and a 50/50 raffle with all proceeds to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis. The car show is presented in the meory of Wilbur West. Wilbur was a longtime and well respected educator in Cocke County, teaching for 45 years. After he retired in 2011, Wilbur volunteered three days a week for 10 years at the City Garage Car Museum.
