TBI Introduces New Specialized K-9
On Tuesday, The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced their new tool to help fight crime. His name is Marvel, a 17-month-old black Labrador Retriever. Marvel is an electronic storage detection K-9, with an especially trained ability to sniff out devices such as hard drives, flash drives, and even micro-SD cards thinner than a millimeter. These devices may hold critical evidence, especially in child exploitation related cases. Marvel and his partner, TBI special agent Claire Haldewang, will be available to support cases statewide, with their primary focus being on investigations involving internet crimes against children. Marvel is the TBI’s second ESD K-9. His predecessor, K-9 Zeus, retired earlier this year.
