Man Previously Trespassed Taken Into Custody

Cocke County deputies arrested a Newport man following a call about a possible physical altercation. On October 21st, deputies were dispatched to a home on Dirt Way in Newport, but the individuals involved had already left before officers arrived. Neighbors told deputies that Michael Hayes and his girlfriend had been at the residence. Deputies later located the pair on Clifton Heights Road. Authorities say Hayes was previously trespassed from the Dirt Way property. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Cocke County Old Jail.
