One Car Accident Downs Utility Pole

A one car accident resulted in the downing of a utility pole in the Western Plaza Shopping Center. The accident happened Saturday night. Kennedy Randolph told police that she had been working long hours and was driving eastbound on West Broadway. Randolph is believed to have fallen asleep at the wheel, crossed into the westbound lanes, then into the Western Plaza shopping Center where she struck a utility pole. Randolph told police that she had no recollection of what happened. She was not injured, but Newport Utilities had to be called to repair the down utility pole.
