Vols First Win At Florida In 22 Years Moves Them Up In AP Top 25
The Tennessee Vols exorcized one of their demons Saturday night in the swamp. For the first time since 2003, Tennessee came out of Gainesville with a win against Florida. The Vols 31-11 victory moves them up two spots in the latest AP top 25 poll. Tennessee is now at #18 in the poll.
Other SEC teams in the top 25, Texas A&M is at #3, Georgia is at #4, while Ole Miss is at #6. Oklahoma sits at #8 and Alabama is at #10, making half of the top 10 SEC teams.
Vanderbilt moved up to #12 after their win against Kentucky. Texas is at #16 and Tennessee is at #18. Missouri dropped out of the top 25.
It has been a long time since the regular season finale between Vanderbilt and Tennessee has had significant meaning. While Tennessee, even with a win, will probably not crack the playoff picture, they are still jockeying for a good bowl appearance. Vanderbilt on the other hand needs a win to stay in the playoff conversation. A win against Tennessee enhances their shot, plus would give Vanderbilt its first 10 win season ever. Kickoff is set for 3:30 Saturday afternoon at Neyland.
