Police Chase Leads To Drug Charge
A Cocke County man has been arrested on drug charges after leading police on a chase last week. According to the Cocke County Sheriff’s office, 50 year old Randall Brown, who has a revoked license, was spotted driving on Carson Springs Road. When a deputy attempted a traffic stop, Brown sped away turning onto Splashaway Road. Spike strips were later deployed at the intersection of New Cave Church Road and Splashaway Road. When Brown saw the spike strips, he came to a stop and was taken into custody during a Felony traffic stop.
During a search of the inside of Brown’s pickup truck, they located baggies and other drug paraphernalia items. Deputies then looked under the hood of the vehicle and located a black box with magnets containing approximately 3.0 grams of suspected Heroin/Fentanyl, along with several narcotics in pill form. They also found digital scales and several baggies that were consistent with the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics. Deputies also seized $974 in cash. Brown is charged with sale, manufacture or delivery of illegal narcotics.
