One In Custody After Stabbing 2 People

One person was taken into custody Sunday afternoon in Newport after stabbing two people at Feed My Sheep. Witnesses told police that 27 year old Jacquez Branner came into Feed My Sheep around 12:45 Sunday afternoon and began causing a disturbance. Witnesses and the victims say that Branner stabbed a female victim before then stabbing a man that was trying to intervene. Bothe of the victims had on heavy coats, which kept the blade from penetrating into their skin. Branner was found by police at Walgreen’s where he was arrested. A witness told police they watched Branner toss the knife into a storm drain. Police recovered the weapon and Branner is charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault and Public Intoxication.
