Juvenile Charged With “Threats Of Mass Violence”
A juvenile living in Cocke County has been charged in connection with making a threat against a school in another county. According to Cocke County Sheriff CJ Ball, his office in cooperation with the Cocke County School System, Tennessee Office of Homeland Security and the FBI have identified a juvenile, who resides in Cocke County, that allegedly made a threat of mass violence against another school in Tennessee, but not in Cocke County. The Sheriff says there is no direct threat against any student, staff member of building in Cocke County.
Due to the nature of the threat, this juvenile has now been charged with making ” Threats of Mass Violence”. Sheriff Ball says this incident is a grave reminder that online actions have severe real-world consequences that lead to prosecution.
