Plane Crashes In Jefferson County, Two Dead
Two people are dead after a plane crashed Monday afternoon in Jefferson County. The New Market Volunteer Fire Department says they were called around 1pm to the site where a plane went down in a field northwest of New market. The plane was a Beechcraft 58 and two people were on board, both were killed in the crash which caused a small brush fire around the crash site.
The National Transportation Safety Board is on its way to the site. After they evaluate the wreckage at the scene of the crash, everything will be moved to a location where it can be looked at further. The NTSB says they could have a preliminary report in about 30 days.
Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Coffey says the bodies have been taken to the Knox County Forensics Center for identification.
