American Eagle Foundation Still Looking For Missing Eagles
The American Eagle Foundation is still trying to locate three missing bald eagles who escaped from their enclosure at Dollywood nearly two weeks ago. The three bald eagles are named Wesley, Rockland and Ceasar and all three have bands on their legs. Wesley has a black band while the other two have orange bands.
The American Eagle Foundation says they have received four confirmed sightings of the eagles, and they have all been within a couple miles of Dollywood. The foundation says the three eagles are not strong fliers, so it is not a surprise that they are still around the Dollywood area. The foundation says if someone spots one of the eagles, they ask that you do not approach the eagle, but take a picture and alert the American Eagle Foundation with the precise location, GPS coordinates are appreciated. The number for the American Eagle Foundation in Kodak’s phine number is 865-429-0157.
On Sunday, April 19, a storm uprooted a tree that crashed into the aviary where eagles are housed at Dollywood. That allowed the three eagles to escape. 26 other eagles were transported to the American Eagle Foundation in Kodak while repairs are being made to the Dollywood site.
