Medic Blood Center Celebrates 4th of July

The area’s blood supply continues to be critically low, so the Medic Regional Blood Center is increasing the incentives to give the gift of life. Today and tomorrow they are having the pint for a pint promotion, where anyone who gives blood will get a pint of Bruster’s ice cream…

Starting on Friday, Medic will be celebrating the 4th of July for an entire week. From July 2nd-July 9th all who give blood will recieve a special tye-dye t-shirt, a Texas Roadhouse coupon, a $10 E-Gift card good at hundreds of major brand retailers…but also each donor will be registered to win a kayak they are giving away and be regitered for a $1,000 E-Gift card to be given away in July.

Medic says there is a critical need right now for both O positive and O negative as well as B positive blood types. Medic prefers you make an appointment by going online to medicblood.org, but they do welcome walk-ins. The Medic Mobile Blood Center is scheduled to wrap up the Independence Day Celebration week next Friday in Newport at Lowe’s from Noon-6.
