Collision Avoidance Training For Young Drivers
The Sevierville Police Department is hosting Collision Avoidance Training for young drivers. This 12 hour class is free. The training is available for those ages 16-20 who have a valid drivers license. That class will be on Friday July 16th from 6pm-9pm and finish on Saturday July 17th from 8a-5p . Students in the class will learn in a classroom, plus out on a driving course using their own vehicles. Young drivers will have the opportunity to make mistakes in a controlled setting with a qualified instructor right there in their vehicle to correct mistakes.
Registration is limited so anyone interested in taking this free Collision Avoidance Training should call 865-868-1866 to register. According to national statistics, over 60% of all new drivers will be involved in a crash within the first twelve months of getting their driver’s license. Over 40% of those crashes will result in the young driver being hospitalized.
