A Morristown man is in an Intensive Care Unit at a hospital in Lexington Kentucky after being crushed by a semi truck. The incident happened at a reststop on I-64 in Midway, Kentucky…..about 20 minutes outside of Lexington.
The Versailles Kentucky Police Department working that case as a hit-and-run collision. The man’s daughter said a semi-truck backed into her dad, Gerald Sapp while he was checking the oil in his truck…catching him between the two vehicles. She says her dad has undergone 22 1/2 hours of surgery total and is in the ICU at University of Kentucky hospital….with a broken pelvis…plus both of Sapp’s femurs were broken…that is the large bone in the upper leg. The semi truck driver that struck Gerald Sapp drove away after the accident without stopping. Police are trying to locate that driver. A GoFundMe page has been set up for Gerald Sapp’s medical bills.
