Busted Windshield Results In Drug Arrest
On Monday the Cocke County Sheriff’s office made a drug arrest after the suspect crashed their vehicle. A deputy had spotted a vehicle with a busted windshield and the driver with no seatbelt on driving on Jimtown Road. The deputy was not able to catch up to that vehicle before it reached Asheville highway. About 20 minutes later dispatch sent out a call about a vehicle that had crashed off River Chase Rd and the man from the vehicle was walking down Asheville Hwy. The deputy confirmed it was the same vehicle he had been after…the driver of that vehicle was 35 year old Nicholas Davis of Newport…he told the deputy he had done heroin…in fact a baggie was found on his person containing .57 grams of suspected heroin. Davis was jailed on charges of possession of schedule I narcotics.
