Both Drivers Ticketed In Crash In Front of Wal-Mart
We have details on that crash that happened in front of Wal-Mart on Cosby Hwy Tuesday morning. According to witnesses, a red maroon Dodge pickup…driven by 39 year old Adam Pierce was headed southbound on Cosby Hwy as he approached the stoplight at the Wal-Mart entrance, his cell phone rang and he looked down at it, failing to see that the light was turning yellow. Exiting the Wal-Mart and turning left with a green light onto Cosby Hwy was a silver Chevy minivan driven by 60 year old Terry Templin of Newport. Pierce’s pickup truck entered the intersection failing to stop and struck the driver’s side of the minivan…spinning it around and causing the pickup truck to rollover on its top. Pierce, the driver of the maroon truck was uninjured…while Templin was transported to the Newport Medical Center to be check out by medical staff. Both drivers were issued citations. Pierce was cited for disregarding a traffic control light…Templin was cited as he was driving without a license and had no proof of insurance.
