Lawn Mower Theft With Credit Card
Police in Morristown were called to L&M Sales & Service this week about the theft of a lawn mower. According to the business’ Randy Tuggle, a man named Cory Henson called in June and made a purchase over the phone of a zero turn mower. Henson gave the store a credit card number and the purchase was approved. Two females came to pick up the mower and signed for it, although not legibly. On Tuesday, L&M Sales & Service received a call that the credit card company was attempting to withdraw the purchase price of the mower out of L&M’s account because of an unknown issue (possibly the credit card account had been closed or a stop payment had been issued). Tuggle told police that the same suspects have done the same thing at the L&M Sales &Service location in Knoxville. Knox County police are investigating that theft.
