22Now Dead From Middle Tennessee Floods

The death toll now stands at 22 in the flooding in middle Tennessee. Humphreys, Dickson and Hickman Counties seeing the most damage from the flooding rains that came on Saturday. One official stated that Humphreys County saw almost a foot of rain in just 6 hours. That caused the worst flash flooding the county has ever seen. Homes lifted off their foundations and carried away, cars piled together or against power poles. Roads and bridges were washed out in those three counties west of Nashville. Among the 22 dead are twin babies who were swept away as their parents tried to escape the flood waters. Their bodies were found a short time later. Another of the victims was Wayne Spears, the foreman for Loretta Lynn’s Hurricane Mills Ranch. Loretta personally took to social media mourning the loss…stating that “He took such good care of things here on the ranch for us. He’s one of us and the whole Lynn family is heartbroken.” Governor Bill Lee along with senators Marsha Blackburn and Bill Haggerty toured the area on Sunday to see the devastation. President Joe Biden has promised Governor Lee federal support for that area.
