Jefferson County Sherriff Arrests Several In Operation Slingshot
The Jefferson County sheriff’s office has announced several arrests in what they are calling Operation Slingshot. With help from the 4th Judicial Drug Task Force and the K-9 unit, authorities made arrests in connection with a known drug house on Tom Breeden Road in Jefferson City. Police had noticed numerous vehicles coming and going from that address. Among those arrested was the target of the investigation, 40 year old Travis Rice who is a resident of that home. Rice is charged with multiple drug charges including 2 counts of delivery and sale of schedule I heroin. Also arrested… 29 year old Kelli Manes of White Pine who besides being arrested for possession of heroin also faces charges of aggravated child abuse and neglect as she brought a 4 year old child with her to purchase heroin. Among the others arrested in Operation Slingshot…William Sessums of Morristown, Tania Reynolds of Knoxville, Nathan Ivy of Morristown, and Heather Atkins of Jefferson City.
