Cocke County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Homicide In Del Rio

The Cocke County Sheriff Office is investigating a homicide in Del Rio. According to chief deputy CJ Ball….Monday evening at 5:36, police were dispatched to a home on Crane Way. A woman had called 911 to report that her husband had been shot by their neighbor. Upon arrival officers found a man, dead sitting in the driver seat of a white van parked on Crane Way next to a driveway. Shortly after arrival officers came in contact with a man that appeared to be the alleged shooter. Officers took the 65 year old suspect into custody without incident. The Cocke County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division was called to the scene to investigate and the sheriff’s office is working with District Attorney Jimmy Dunn’s office regarding this homicide. The suspect was transported to the Cocke County CID office for questioning. First Call EMS, Newport Rescue Squad, and the Del Rio Fire Department Responded to the scene….the names of the victim and the suspect have not yet been released.
