Tennessee Plates Getting A New Look
Tennessee’s license plate is getting a makeover. Every 8 years according to law, the state redesigns the plate as long as it is funded by the General Assembly. To help celebrate Tennessee’s 225th birthday this year, the standard Tennessee license plate is getting a facelift, and the state wants you to help decide the new look. This week, you can go to tn.gov/governor/ratetheplates and vote for your choice of 4 different designs. The main color of the plate is either navy blue or white with either the 3 star logo in the middle or a silhouette of state like on the current plates. Voting is open now until September 27th. The new plate will replace the current one, which came out in 2006 and has had a few modifications over the last 15 years. The new plate design will be announced later this fall with the plates ready to be on cars starting in January.
