Property Of Man Related To Dog Attacks, Shot At
The man whose property on Jimtown Road that has been the site of two fatal dog attacks called police early Monday morning about a shot fired at his camper. 69 year old Charles Owensby had called police stating that someone had shot through his camper around 2:30am. Responding Cocke County officers observed what appeared to be a bullet hole that went through his camper on the left side that was facing Jimtown Rd. No shell casings were located in the yard or in the roadway. Deputies could not find the round either as it was not lodged in the camper. Owensby had stated that it was a 2010-2016 white 4 door Chevy pickup truck that had driven down the road when he had heard the shot go off and that he was inside the camper at that time. Owensby had also stated that a county road employee has been driving past his residence in the mornings and screaming murderer at him. Clearly upset about the about the situation, Owensby threatened retaliation if his dog was killed. Police have no suspects at this time.
