Owensby Charged With Filing False Report

Earlier this week, you will recall we reported that Cocke County deputies were dispatched out to a residence on Jimtown Road about a shot being fired at a camper owened by Charles Owensby who claimed to have been inside the camper when it was shot at. He also told deputies it was a white 4 door chevy truck that possible fired the shot. According to the Cocke County sheriff’s office, all of that…was a lie. When investigators looked further into that shooting, they found the bullet hole in Owensby’s camper was already there from a previous investigation. The Cocke County sheriff’s office has now charged Owensby with filing a false police report. He was arrested earlier this week for failing to appear in court on Monday to answer schedule VI drug charges.

The 69 year old Owensby owns the property where two fatal dog attacks occurred earlier this year.
