Four Cows Killed In Truck Wreck

Four cows were killed Friday in an accident on US 25E north of Morristown. It happened when 49 year old Christopher Robinsson of Bean Station who was on Cherokee Park Road got the green light to cross US 25E in his Freightliner semi. But, a cattle truck being driven by 25 year old Jordan Crabtree of Pennington Gap, Virginia traveling northbound on 25E failed to stop at the red light and struck the other semi on the front quarter panel driving Robinson’s semi into the median. The cattle truck turned over on its side and skidded across the roadway. One cow was dead at the scene…3 others were later euthanized. US 25E had to be closed for 4 hours Friday with traffic re-routed while the road was cleared of the wreckage, Both drivers were sent to the hospital for treatment. Crabtree was charged with running the red light and failure to use due care.
