Cocke County Sheriff’s Narcotics Division Makes Drug Bust
Drug Agents with the new Narcotics Division within the Cocke County sheriff’s office made a big drug bust on Monday. Agents conducted a search warrant at a residence on Stoneview Way in Cosby. A search of a camper on the property yielded 12.42 grams of heroin in bags, 14.6 grams of methamphetamine in bags…Agents also seized 8 hits of LSD and $148 cash….plus bags used to package narcotics for sale…In the search of a mobile home on the property found nearly half a gram of heroin…1.7 grams of meth…and 8.79 ounces of marijuana. All total, 6 people were taken into custody…they are…24 year old Morgan Cody….43 year old Meaghan Hill both of Newport …51 year old Melissa Potts…57 year old Richard Raines of Cosby…30 year old Sarah Marie Sturm of Parrottsville…38 year old Travis Wilkins of Newport…All have been charged with Schedule I and II drug charges.
43 year old Joshua Stout was charged but was not taken into custody at this time.
Upon arrival at the jail corrections officers were advised that Meaghan Hill had 8.89 grams of heroin and 2 gaberpentin pills lodged in a body cavity…Hill was able to put the pills in her mouth and swallow before the officers could get them…the heroin though was seized. Hill has now also been charged with introduction into a penal facility and tampering with evidence.
