Woman’s Jeep Stolen While She’s On Honeymoon

A woman contacted Newport police over the weekend to report her vehicle had been stolen. Christy Allen Mounts told Police that she had recently gotten married and left on her honeymoon on September 25. She had a friend keeping an eye on her home while she was away. Mounts stated that last Thursday the friend notified her that her 2007 Jeep was missing from her driveway. Mounts stated that she did not recall if the doors were locked on the vehicle. She told police the jeep has a black star across the hood and that it is a hard top. Police estimate the Jeep to be valued at around $12,000.
