Morristown Woman Gets Counterfeit Bill In Change
Police were called to the Wendy’s on east Morris Blvd in Morristown. Joy Coffey told officers that she was paying for her meal when the cashier at Wendy’s informed her the $10 bill she was trying to use was counterfeit. Coffey told police that she had just come from TJ Maxx at the mall and the $10 bill was given to her as part of her change from that transaction. Police accompanied Ms. Coffey over to the TJ Maxx where they spoke with the store manager, who gave Ms. Coffey a clean $10 bill. The manager and the police officer checked the register drawer where that counterfeit bill had come from and wound up finding 3 more counterfeit $10 bills. Police are investigating.
