Shoplifting Arrest Leads To Drug Arrest
What was supposed to be a stop of a shoplifter turned out to be a drug arrest in Morristown on New Years’ Eve. Loss prevention at Wal-Mart on Crockett Trace had observed a man trying to leave the property with unpaid for merchandise in bags. The shoplifter was identified as 44 year old James Singleton of Bean Station. When police searched him, they found 4 separate baggies containing pills confirmed to be alprazolam…or Xanax…4 additional baggies of methamphetamine were found. Those baggies were all found in a bigger bag…giving police the belief that the drugs were packaged for sale. Singleton was arrested, he’s been charged with possession with intent to sell along with shoplifting.
