Extensive Damage Done To Boat Dock In Grainger County

Daylight on Wednesday showed just how much damage had been done to a Grainger County boat dock on Cherokee Lake. The Gilmore Boat Dock near Rutledge caught fire Tuesday evening around 6pm. Wednesday morning crews were able to see the extent of the damage. Much of the boat dock had been destroyed in that blaze. Crews are still busy trying to determine just how many boats were destroyed in that fire. The owners of the Gilmore Boat Dock are not sure whether they can rebuild in time for the summer boating season this year. The cause of that fire in under investigation.
