Greene County Homicide Suspect To Be Tried As Adult
The suspect in that double homicide in Greene County Sunday night will be tried as an adult. District Attorney General Dan Armstrong said Wednesday that the 16 year old juvenile suspect had waived his right to the juvenile detention hearing. That hearing is required to be held within 72 hours of an arrest unless waived by the defendant. Armstrong said the juvenile will remain in custody and a hearing will be held on May 12th where the process will begin to transfer the case to adult court. That 16 year old is accused of killing 59 year old Sherry Cole and her 7 year old grandson Jessie Allen. Their bodies were found among puddles of blood behind a home on Old Snapps Ferry Road late Sunday night. Bloody tools were also found at the scene.
