Big Red Choir Overcomes Flight Issues To Perform On Big Stage
The Cocke County High School’s Big Red Fire Choir made it to the big stage at Carnegie Hall in New York City, but it wasn’t without a little difficulty. The recent rash of flight cancellations left the choir standing…and singing…at Charlotte International Airport. After sitting on the runway for 45 minutes, they found out their connecting flight to New York City had been cancelled. So, it was back into the airport for a 15 hour wait. While waiting, the choir serenaded others with the same problem. A airline employee, who was working her last day on the job and looking for something positive to happen on her final day, got the choir booked on a special flight. Thanks to that employee, the choir made it to New York City on time to perform on the big stage in the big apple. The choir had raised more than $100,000 to make that trip last week.
