Four Arrested Attempting To Bring Drugs Into Jail
Narcotics officers with the Hamblen County Sheriff’s office have arrested four individuals involved in a plan to bring drugs into the Hamblen County Jail. Working on a tip, officers observed a woman drop something next to a Hamblen County patrol car parked at Morristown Hamblen hospital. The plan was for that package to be picked up by an inmate identified as 48 year old Michael English. Inside that package, disguised as bubble gum were suboxone strips and heroin. The woman who dropped the package was 26 year old Karen Karcher who has been charged with possession and delivery of schedule I and III narcotics. Through her, police found that she was working with 35 year old Keyshon Robinson, and 43 year old Rasshan Johnson to smuggle drugs into the jail. Hamblin County deputies served a search warrant on Johnson and found 53.1 grams of heroin, 16.7 grams of cocaine and 87 pills believed to be fentanyl in his car. A large amount of cash was also found in his pocket. Johnson was arrested and charged with sale of narcotics. All four individuals have been charged with criminal conspiracy.
