Search Continues In Cocke County For Missing Woman

The search is continuing in a remote area of Cocke County for a missing Gatlinburg woman. 76 year old Claudene Whaley left home last Sunday afternoon to get lunch and never returned. The TBI issued a Silver Alert last Monday. Claudene Whaley’s vehicle was discovered Wednesday evening on Gulf Road which is in the Grassy Fork area. Ms. Whaley was not found with the vehicle. That sparked a search of that area by Gatlinburg police, Cocke County sheriff’s department, Cocke County Emergency Management and the Grassy Fork Fire Department. So far Ms. Whaley, who has dementia has not been found. She is 5’1″ tall, weighs 150 pounds, has gray hair and hazel eyes.
