Swearing In Ceremonies
More than 200 people gathered on the south lawn of the Cocke County Courthouse this morning to watch the swearing in of the new class of Cocke County officials. 40 people took the oath for their new office, or as county and school board members today. Judge Ben Hooper began the ceremonies and swore in Circuit Judge Carter Moore for his second 8 year term. Judge Moore then had the pleasurable task of swearing in a slew of officials starting with County Clerk Shalee MClure, who was sworn in for her first full term as an elected official.
County Mayor Rob Mathis was next in line followed by the man who will fill Rob Mathis’ old job as County Trustee, Mitch Fine. CJ Ball was then sworn in as the new sheriff in Cocke County.
Among the special guests attending the swearing in ceremonies were state representative Jeremy Faison, Chairman of the Election Commission Vaughn Moore, and the Administer of Elections for Cocke County, Josh Blanchard.
Congratulations to all who were sworn in this morning to serve Cocke County.
