Man Chases Woman With Hammer

Cocke County deputies were dispatched to a residence in Newport where a man had been seen taking items from that residence and a woman was lying on the ground. Deputies arrived and found 36 year old Savanna Green. She stated that her ex-boyfriend was on her property when she arrived home from work. She stated he chased her around the property with a hammer and eventually she fell to the ground and he assaulted her with his hand. Green stated that there were several things missing from her home as he had broken in. Green was transported to a friend’s home so she would not be left alone in the residence. The suspect in the case is 39 year old Michael Davis. He is being charged with aggravated domestic assault and aggravated burglary.
