Police Investigate Vehicles Vandalized At New Subway

Newport police are investigating a case of vandalism regarding the new Subway on Cosby Hwy. Police were dispatched about 10:30pm Sunday night. Employee Rakeisha Sams told officers the front passenger side window of her car shattered when she closed the driver’s side door. She stated she saw a small hole in the window before it shattered. Police also noticed that the Subway van also had two of its passenger windows shattered as well. Rocks could be seen lying next to the van. Video Surveillance showed a group of what appeared to be juvenile males walking next to the parking lot around 10pm. One person from the group walked toward the damaged vehicles then ran away. Part of that group was seen then going to a home on New Cave Church Road.
