Two Injured In Hamblen Co. Fire
Two Hamblen County residents were transported to the UT Medical Center in Knoxville after being injured in a house fire Tuesday afternoon. Morristown Fire officials say they responded to a house fire near Joe Hall Road and Fish Hatchery Road around 4pm yesterday. That is just north of the intersection of US 25E and Hwy 160. Fire officials say the home was completely engulfed when they arrived and that due to the home being in a hard area to get to, firefighters struggled with getting enough water up to the blaze. Crews could not get a tanker truck up the road leading to the home and had to haul water via smaller trucks. The fire took several hours for crews to extinguish. Two people were severely burned in that fire and were airlifted to the UT Medical Center in Knoxville. The cause of that fire has not yet been determined but is under investigation.
