UT Player Arrested…Charged With A Felony
After a big win against LSU, Tennessee may be without one of their captains on defense. Defensive back Jaylen McCollough, who made 7 tackles in the game against LSU and is a senior on the team was arrested on Sunday and is being charged with aggravated assault. The arrest stems from an incident at a Knoxville apartment complex Sunday. The victim told police that he had been drinking with friends inside an apartment but went back to his car to get something. When he went back to the apartment, he went to the wrong apartment by mistake. When he opened the unlocked door, he said he realized he was in the wrong apartment and encountered McCollough. The victim stated that MCollough followed him out of the apartment, then punched him causing him to fall down a flight of stairs. Police found the victim with blood and swelling on his mouth and had multiple missing and broken teeth. McCollough was found by police with his right hand in bandages and blood showing through the bandage. McCollough is charged with a felony. At this time, the University of Tennessee has not issued a statement regarding this incident.
