Theft Of Diesel Fuel at Time Out Travel Center

Police are investigating the theft of diesel fuel at the Time Out Travel Center in Newport. A driver toldd police she had parked her Decker Trucklines semi at the travel center Friday evening and had come by on several occasions to check on it…however she never tried to start it. On Wednesday she returned to the truck to go on a haul and noticed the fuel gage was down to 8%, where it had been half full. She found that someone had opened up the fuel cap on the passenger side and nearly drained the tank. She estimates that somewhere in the neighborhood of 80-100 gallons of fuel had been stolen…nearly $600 in cost. There are no suspects at this time.
